About the process
I work on gessoed canvas and wood, incorporating unique elements such as sand, granite dust, wood powder, champagne chalk, marble flour, and even coffee to create texture and depth. My art process involves playing and experimenting with a diverse array of materials, including pigments, pastels, ink, and charcoal. I apply these materials using a variety of tools and techniques, from traditional brushes to unconventional items like fingers, feathers, sticks, spatulas, knives, and scrapers.
The paintings grow with each layer as I follow my intuition, adding and removing, hiding and emphasizing. There is no sketch or plan, just a dive into the deeper levels of consciousness. The painting is finished when it stops asking for more – when I feel that I have replied to all its questions and received all the answers to mine.
